Welcome to Backyard Smoke, I’m your host James Hogan and today we will be making a Hickory BBQ Rub from scratch This is a great recipe that you can use on a variety of meats and will keep for up to a year if contained properly.

The rub is super simple to make and will taste great on meats like Ribs, Chicken, Briskets and Pork.

This recipe will yield about 16oz

Ingredients

1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
1/3 Cup Course Black Pepper
1 tbsp Smoked Spanish Paprika
1 tbsp Granulated Garlic
1 tbsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Coriander
2 tsp Mustard Seed
1.5 tsp Hickory Powder
