Cheese scones – Scones au fromage

I don’t know about you, but I feel like having a craving for cheese to accompany my 4 o’clock tea. Have a look at the recipe below. (Disponible aussi en français au bas.)

Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/3 cup frozen butter
1-1/2 cups cheddar and mozzarella cheese mixture
3 tablespoons of parmesan cheese
2 eggs
1/3 cup unsweetened condensed milk

Recipe:
1 – Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

2 – Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and smoked paprika. Grate the frozen butter and stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Then stir with the cheese mixture (mozzarella and cheddar).

3 – Mix the eggs and milk until the mixture is homogeneous. Make a hole in the centre of the flour. Add the eggs mixture and knead lightly. Flour the worktop and the dough then roll out the dough.

4 – Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into slices. Put the slices on a baking tray covered with baking paper.

5 – Cook for 15 to 17 minutes, once cooked, brush with a little melted butter.

Ingrédients:
2 tasses de farine
2 c. à thé de levure chimique
1/2 c. à thé de sel
1/8 c. à thé de paprika fumé
1/3 tasse de beurre congelé
1-1/2 tasse de mélange de cheddar et mozzarella
3 c. à soupe de parmesan
2 œufs
1/3 tasse de lait concentré non sucré

Recette :

1 – Préchauffer le four à 400 ºF.

2 – Mélanger la farine, la levure chimique, le sel et le paprika fumé. Râpé le beurre congelé et mélanger au moyen d’une cuillère en bois jusqu’à ce que la préparation ressemble à de la chapelure grossière. Puis incorporer le mélange de fromages (mozzarella et cheddar).

3 – Mélanger les œufs et le lait jusqu’à ce que le mélange soit homogène. Faire un trou au centre de la farine. Ajouter le mélange d’œufs et pétrir légèrement . Fariner le plan de travail ainsi que la pâte puis abaisser la pâte.

4 – A l’aide d’un emporte pièce, découper la pâte en rondelles. Mettre les rondelles sur une plaque de cuisson recouverte de papier sulfurisé.

5 – Faire cuire de 15 à 17 minutes, une fois cuit badigeonner avec un peu de beurre fondue.
