MAC N CHEESE
This Macaroni and Cheese is the best you will try! Making it at home for me is much better than having it from anywhere. I always feel that when it is ordered from a restaurant, something is missing from the flavours. This recipe is just perfectly delicious, cheesy, gooey and bubbly. The lovely grilled cheese bits add to the delicious texture.
It doesn’t need to be an occasional to enjoy some mac n cheese. It is heart warming and delicious! Works perfectly with fried chicken, a burger, grilled veg or by itself. You can also be adventurous and mix some veg or chicken into this dish and take the dish to another level of flavours!
Cooking time: 45 mins | Portions: 4-6 servings
INGREDIENTS:
-225g macaroni
For the cheese sauce
-50g butter,
-50g plain flour,
-500ml milk (adjust depending on how thick you want the sauce and if you are grilling or not. If you’re not grilling, use less milk)
-1 tsp ground black pepper,
-1 tsp paprika,
-175g gruyere (Gruyere is a must in macaroni and cheese),
-100g cheddar (Alongside Gruyere, cheddar is also a must),
-65g parmesan (this is optional, though i like to add parmesan for the extra strong cheese flavour),
Tips/Advice:
-You can have this mac n cheese grilled or ungrilled,
-Add less milk if you are planning to not grill the mac n cheese,
-You can prepare the mac n cheese early and then put it in the grill when you’re ready,
-Grill the mac n cheese for 20-30 mins at 180c, you will know its ready when its golden and bubbling!
