EASY Instant Pot Tikka Masala – Instant Pot Indian Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb. boneless Beef or chicken or meat of your choice
1/2 cup Yogurt (just be sure itโ€™s plain)
1.5 Tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp meat tenderizer https://amzn.to/2Cc0v7p
1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds https://amzn.to/3fI97An
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp smoked paprika https://amzn.to/2XH40KA
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder
1/2 cup fried or dry onions https://amzn.to/33ESAdV
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
3 tbsp organic tomato sauce https://amzn.to/3ioiSFC
1/2 cup beef broth or water
1cup chopped fresh cilantro (1/2 cup in marination and 1/2 for garnishing)
Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl Add boneless meat and all the above ingredients except tomato sauce cook it right away or and marinate it, Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes up to 48 hours.
2. Mix well that each piece of meat is thoroughly coated with yogurt mixture.
3. Turn the pressure cooker into saute mode, once hot add oil
4. Dump in the whole mixture spread evenly.
5. Add 1/2 cup of water and select manual or pressure cook for 20 minutes on high.
I m always in a hurry so will do a quick release, if you have time let it release the pressure naturally.
6. Carefully open up the lid turn on the saute mode usually it takes about 8 minutes to get the desired consistency for masala you can adjust it according to your liking.
7. Add tomato sauce mix well.
8. Garnish with cilantro.
Serve this incredibly tender and flavorful beef masala curry with steamed rice and chopped cilantro.
STOVE TOP
You can make this right on the stovetop in a pan. Follow the instructions above and once the yogurt mixture is fully incorporated allow it to marinate and cook for 30-45 minutes depending upon the type and quality of meat.
Leftovers
You can store this tikka masala recipe in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container. It freezes well as well, for up to 3 months. Be sure to thaw it completely before reheating on the stove.
