This is a recipes straight from the old country!
Serves a whole family during the winter months!

Recipes takes 4 days to prepare.

Ingredients/Directions:

6 pieces pork
– Cup them into strips and place in large pot
– Make sure to salt each layer with coarse salt

Leave in fridge to marinate 1-3 days. But this is an old fashioned recipe that will make the meat stay fresh for the whole winter.

After 3 days, you place the meat in a large bowl filled with cold-water, and put back in the fridge for one more night.

4th day,
Cut the slices into cubes.
– We fried the meat for 1.5 hours before continuing with the recipe.

Then you take
– 1 cup onions
– 1/2 cup carrots
– 1/2 celery
– 1/2 bell peppers – any colour
– 1 clove garlic – clean & crushed
– Salt & pepper & red paprika
– 1 tbsp. Tomato paste

6 medium potatoes – clean, and cut into cubes & place in bowl of water

Directions:

In a large skillet
– 2 tbsp. Vegetable oil (any oil)
– Add in your vegetables
– Fry for a couple minutes or until the vegetables become tender
– Add in tomato paste
– Salt & pepper & sweet red paprika
– Mix all together
– Add in your meat here – fry for about 5-10 minutes
– Add in the potatoes
– 3-4 cups of water is added here (depending on the size of your skillet)
– Cover and leave to boil for 1 – 1.5 hours

If it’s too watery – take 1 tbsp. Flour and. mix it with 3 tbsp. Cold water – then add into your stew as thickening agent.

Then plate and serve with parsley and chilli flakes on top (optional).
