Here is my hummus recipe:
Ingredients:
130g of sesame seeds
330g of chickpeas
4 tbsp of olive oil
10g of garlic
55g of lemon juice
55g of chickpea broth
1 tsp of salt
Preparation:
1. Warm the sesame seeds in a pan for 4-5 minutes or until they become aromatic. This may go faster if you use a quicker heating pan. I have a thick-bottomed pan and therefore it takes a while.
2. Place the roasted sesame seeds into a food processor and let it run for 3-4 minutes or until the sesames have become a fine dust.
3. Scrape down the walls of the food processor with a rubber spatula and add the 4 tbsp of olive oil to the sesame seeds. Let the food processor run for another 2-3 minutes or until the tahini is smooth.
4. Once the tahini is all ready, add the chickpeas, lemon juice, chickpea broth, garlic, and salt to the food processor and let run for another 4-5 minutes or until smooth.
For those of you in the Los Angeles area, please go visit Bibi’s Bakery:

They have the best pitas in town. They’re always made fresh and are also extremely affordable — 2 bags for $5! Their Jerusalem toastees are also excellent.
I also wanted to shout out the restaurants that have inspired me to make better hummus:
