In our latest Taste of Retirement, we traveled to Cincinnati to teach you how to make Tandoori Chicken! We partnered up with Gary at Baba India Restaurant and asked him for some of his recommendations for easy Indian recipes for beginners. What we ended up with was learning how to make tandoori chicken, creating a delicious saag and the best smelling and tasting naan we’ve ever had!
Now there aren’t many easy Indian recipes out there, better yet, easy Indian dinner recipes, but this tandoori chicken recipe checks them all off!
Tandoori Chicken:
1 Whole Chicken (on the smaller size)
10 oz Yogurt
4 Tbsp olive oil
4 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
4 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
4 Tbsp peeled and minced fresh ginger
3 Tbsp paprika
4 tsp ground cumin
4 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp cardamon
The saag recipe:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 large onion chopped
4 garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 inch fresh ginger peeled and grated
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon tomato paste
¼ cup vegetable stock
14 oz fresh spinach

We did not get the naan bread recipe unfortunately, but you will have to give our tandoori chicken and saag recipes a taste for your own and also head out to Baba India Restaurant in Cincinnati to try it for yourselves!
