We were suppose to be in Spain for our summer holiday but due to the present situation all the plans changed. I was already thinking of eating tapas, paella and sipping a glass of sangria while enjoying the Spanish summer heat. So to satisfy our cravings (slightly) I made a spanish dinner, I cooked crispy calamari and patatas bravas.
Here’s the ingredients so if you crave you can just enjoy it at the comfort of your home.
*for seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 garlic powder
1/2 tsp all-in-one seasoning (optional)
*for Calamari breading
750 grams squid rings (cleaned)
1 cup all purpose flour (seasoned with salt and pepper)
3 large beaten eggs
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup regular bread crumbs
*for homemade tomato puree
300 grams fresh tomato
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp chili powder (depends on how spicy you want it)
*for PATATAS BRAVAS
1 kilo potato (cut into cubes)
salt and pepper to taste
olive oil (just enought to coat everything and prevents it from sticking)
1/2 tsp of your preferred dried herbs
