Ful Medemes is a stew of cooked fava beans, basically from Egypt. It is rich in fibre and protein.Relish it with your favourite bread.

1 cup of cooked fava beans have 187 calories.

Ingredients:
Canned fava beans- 1 tin
Olive oil- 4 tbsp
Onions- 1 cup
Garlic- 1 tbsp
Tomato- 1 cup
Tomato ketchup- 2 tbsp
Tomato purée- 3 tbsp
Tahini- 2 tbsp

Seasoning:
Salt- as per taste
Pepper- 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/4 tsp
Paprika- 1 tsp

Preparation:
1) Add 4 tbsp olive oil to the pan.
2) Add onions and sauté till golden brown.
3) Add 1 spoon garlic and sauté well.
4) Add chopped tomatoes and cook till mushy.
5) Add paprika, pepper powder, salt, cumin and coriander powders. Let the spices get roasted.
6) Add 1 tin of fava beans. Here I have used – American garden brand.
7) Add tomato purée, tomato ketchup and tahini. Mix well.
8) Let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
9) Serve hot with your favourite bread.
