How to Make Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich
INGREDIENTS
For marinade:
3 chicken breasts
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 cup buttermilk* (240ml)
For coating:
1 cup flour (120g)
1/4 cup cornstarch (30g)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
For sauce:
3/4 cup mayonnaise (170g)
2 tbsp ketchup (30g)
1 tbsp mustard (15g)
1/4 tsp vinegar
Hot sauce, optional
1 clove garlic
Pinch of black pepper
Oil, for frying
Burger buns
Lettuce
Tomatoe
Dill pickles
*Buttermilk substitutes:
– 1 tbsp lemon juice (or vinegar) + 1 cup milk. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes.
– 3/4 cup plain yogurt + 1/4 cup milk (or water). Whisk and use immediately.
