This is a classical Hungarian food, prepared from curd cheese, served with sour cream and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
500 g curd cheese
3 eggs
2 dl (200 ml) semolina
2-3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
20 dkg (200 g) breadcrumbs
a pinch of salt
icing sugar
sour cream
a pinch of cinnamon
Directions:
Mix the curd cheese with the eggs, semolina, sugar and salt.
Set it aside for at least 3 hours, during that time the semolina is swelling up. So you can avoid the dumplings to be boiled to rags in the water.
Make small dumplings from the mixture with wet hands and throw them in boiling water. Use low heat. During the dumpings are boiling (just 4-5 minutes), roast the breadcrumbs on the oil until browned. Strain the dumplings and roll them in the breadcrumbs.
Serve with warm sour cream mixed with icing sugar and cinnamon.
Note: If you want a little softer dumplings, add just 1,5 dl (150 ml) semolina
