Today at Deep South Texas I am making Carne Guisada. I am serving this spicy meat stew on homemade tortillas. It is a real treat. I have used home pressure canned beef, but fresh stew beef can be used. The recipe ingredients are below.

1 tablespoon bacon drippings or any other oil of your choice
1 pint pressure canned beef or 1 pound of fresh stew meat that has been cubed
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 green pepper, diced
1 small jalapeno, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomatoes
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt if using fresh beef
