Easy Beef Taco Recipe

Crispy Tacos filled with flavourful beef and salsa! Everyone’s tacos are different, here I have used the diced steak(small size) instead of ground beef. How do you like yours?

Serves: 4 Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Spice Level: Mild 🌶 Preparation Time : 10 Minutes.

Ingredients:-

1 onion
1 Tbs olive oil
3 cloves of garlic
500 g quality minced beef
12 corn taco shells
1 to 1.5 cups Tomato puree/ Canned Tomato
1 Avocado
Pickled Jalapeños
Sour Cream/ Mayonnaise

TACO SEASONING
½ tablespoon chilli powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoons ground cumin
½ teaspoon black pepper
salt

SALSA
2 ripe tomatoes
½ onion
coriander/ cilantro
½ a lime
pepper
salt

How to make beef tacos?

– In a large pan add olive oil and saute the onion over medium heat until onions are lightly browned (caramelised)
– Add garlic and saute for 30 seconds
– Add in the beef (ground/minced/diced) and stir until it has browned.
– Add the seasonings
– Pour in the tomato puree, cover, and cook for 30 minutes, or until reduced and delicious.
Preheat the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/gas 4.
– For the salsa, roughly chop the tomatoes, onion, and the coriander leaves. Combine with the lime juice, then season with salt and pepper.
– Halve and destone the avocados, slice thinly and set aside.
– Spread the taco shells out on a baking tray and place in the oven for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp.
– Fill the shells with the meat, salsa, jalapeños and avocado slices. Top with your choice of cream/ mayonnaise.
