It’s not Tuesday but here were are with the new craze in LA, BIRRIA TACOS. After seeing these Tacos on Instagram, I could not stop thinking about it. Finally I am trying it, although substituted as I do not think we have the guajillo, ancho or chipotle peppers in Trinidad. Also, this was my cheat meal after eating clean for the week… 5lbs down 😊
🌮 What are Birria Tacos 🌮
Think Tacos but on Street Food Steroids. Birria tacos, are an addictively sweet, sour, slightly spicy, and utterly savory Mexican Dish. It comprises of Taco’s and Consume aka Soup.
Birria is traditionally made with lamb meat or beef. Most often, rib meat is what is used from the lamb, and the shank for beef, but you can use other cuts as well. The consume is made by cooking the meat in a combination of guajillo, ancho, and chipotle peppers.

All Spice (Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg)

Maggi Cube (beef, chicken or vegetable)
Angostura Cocoa Bitters (optional)
Tomato Paste (can substitute with ketchup)
Cheese (grated)
Meat (Beef Shank, lamb, short ribs)

2-4 cups water (depending)
Tacos (corn flour or flour)
