Eat Bacon That is Healthy Try Tempeh Bacon

Do you miss eating bacon?

Bacon is a popular protein dish in America, but I have something healthier; it’s high in protein and great for your gut.

Tempeh Bacon

Macronutrients: (Serving Size 2)

Protein: 35g
Carbs: 41g
Fat: 9g

Ingredients:
6 oz Tempeh @lightlifefoods
2 cups (215g) Shredded Lettuce
1/4 cup Chopped Tomatoes
1/4 cup Chopped Purple Onions
1 tbsp Corn Starch

Marinade:
1 tbsp Black Pepper
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
1/4 tsp Cumin
1/2 tsp Vegan Bouillon
1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke
1 tsp White Vinegar
1/2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup calorie free maple syrup @servivita_usa

Directions:
Prepare the marinade first by taking all the ingredients for the marinade and mixing it all in a mixing bowl.

Chop the tempeh into thin slices and do a light coat for both sides of the tempeh in corn starch.

Spray a nonstick pan with olive oil on medium heat and place the tempeh strips and fry both sides.

Once both sides have a golden color, brush the marinade on the tempeh and caramelize both sides.

Place oven on 400 degrees and a baking pan. Place the tempeh on a baking pan and let it bake for the crisp, for about 2 – 5 mins.

Prepare your salad, place tempeh bacon on top, and you’re ready to go.

I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you @soulvegancuisine (Chef Josh Solis) for the recipe.
