We know it is already spring, but it still feels like the winter is coming. So, to keep ourselves warm, we love to prepare this tasty sauerkraut soup:
WHAT
*500g sauerkraut
*1 kielbasa
*150ml sour cream
*5 bay leaves
*5 black peppercorns
*2 table spoons of paprika
*30g forrest mushrooms
*pinch of salt
*Hungarian spicy tomato-pepper paste (optional – you can substitute this with some dried chilli)
HOW
* Prepare a pot and add the sauerkraut and about 1 liter of water
* Add kielbasa, bay leaves, black pepper, paprika, salt and cook for 20 minutes
* Add sour cream, mushrooms, Hungarian paste (or chilli) and let it simmer for another 10 minutes
* Take the kielbasa out, cut it to thin slices and put them back to the soup. That is it!
* Serve with a little bit of sour cream and some bread if you like
