Mrs AAP’s Famous Slow Cooker Pork Butt…. Seasoned early in the day and then seared and slow cooked for 6ish hours, low and slow. See below for the Dry Rub recipe that has become a favorite in the AAP household and was our inspiration for opening a Full BBQ restaurant in our old Hometown near Charleston SC! Stay tuned for a house made sauce recipe as well as all the fixin’s that we love to eat with our BBQ!!

Dry Rub Recipe:
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbs Garlic Powder
1 Tbs Smoked Paprika
1 Tbs Onion Powder
1 Tbs Salt
1 Tbs Pepper
1 Tsp Chili Powder
1 Tsp Cumin
1 Tsp squished Celery Seeds

I oil the meat down with a quality Virgin Olive Oil. I then shake all the seasonings together and pat a good layer on the meat. The meat is then seared at a High Heat on all 4 sides. I add 1 cup of water (broth is OK) to the bottom of the cooker and then cook 30 minutes on High… transfer to Low for 5.5 hours minimum, depending on your cut of meat and size.

I prefer a bone-in meat. It produces an excellent finished product with a great fat/meat ratio!

Good Luck!!!
