Shakshuka is a delicious One-pot #EggCurryRecipe. In this #ShakshukaRecipe; a flavour-packed tomato sauce is made with onion, red capsicum, garlic, tomato, aromatic spices/masalas and eggs are added in it directly. Shakshuka Recipe:
Olive Oil – 3 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) – ½ Cup
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 tbsp
Red Capsicum (chopped) – ½ Cup
Tomato (chopped) – 2 Cups
Salt – 1 tsp
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – ½ tsp
Chilli Flakes – ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder – ½ tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Eggs – 3 nos
Water – ½ Cup
Coriander Leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic. When the onion turns translucent, add the capsicum. Saute and cook for 3 minutes or until it has softened
2. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan.
3. Add the salt, black pepper powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, cumin powder, sugar and chilli flakes. Mix well, add water, cover and cook on a low flame for 10 minutes.
4. Make a few cavities in the tomato sauce using a ladle. Crack in a whole egg.
5. Repeat this step for all the eggs.
6. Cover and cook on a low flame for 10 minutes.
7. Turn off the heat and sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves on top.
Cooking Tips:
1. Smoked Paprika powder can be used instead of the Kashmiri chilli powder.
2. This can either be served warm by itself or eaten with bread/Pita.
