Lebanese Hummus – #Easy #Quick #Best #Recipe
#Ingredients:
Canned chickpeas 400 gr
2 tbsp lemon juice
ice cubes 6 or cold water 3-4 tbsp
Garlic cloves 4-5
Olive oil 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Black pepper 1/2 tbs
Yogurt 2-3 tbsp ( optional)
Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
For Tahini Paste:
Sesame seeds 6 tbsp
2 tbsp olive oil
For Garnishing:
Chopped parsley
paprika powder
Olive oil
#Process:
* To prepare Tahini paste, toast sesame seeds in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes on a low flame until seeds are fragrant and change colour. We need very light brown colour.
* Add toasted seeds in a blender and add 3 tbsp olive oil and blend well until it become a creamy paste.
* Add the chickpeas to a food processor and pulse on high speed until it forms a thick paste.
* Now add salt , pepper , cumin powder, lemon juice , garlic cloves, yogurt ( optional ), and ice cubes or cold water and run for 7- 8 minutes on low medium speed after a couple of minutes hummus will be okay but not smooth enough. Don’t give up and continue until the hummus is creamy.
* You can run on high speed at this stage.
* Taste and adjust the lemon, salt to your taste. Garlic and olive oil always.
* Serve with on a plate with a drizzle of olive oil, optional chopped parsley and paprika powder.
* Enjoy your creamy, tasty simple hummus with your lav-ash or chips as your spoon.
