direcrions how to make Hungarian chicken.
you will need:
bone in and skin on chicken (dark meat is best) 4 or more pieces
1 large yellow onion
1/4 to 1/2 pound white mushrooms(optional)
1/8 to 1/4 pound real butter
16 to 32 oz. tilamook sour cream (not light sour cream)
egg noodles
paprika
salt
pepper
wash chicken, pat dry, season with salt and pepper. Let sit out to reach room temperature. about 20 to 30 minutes.
cook:
melt butter, add chicken skin side down 1st. cook for 5 to 10 minutes in electric skillet at 325 to 350 degrees. On stove Med to medium high heat.
turn chicken and sprinkle with paprika. Roughly 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons. Or just enough to lightly cover meat side of chicken. cook for 5 to 10 minutes. turn chicken and lightly dust skin side chicken with paprika. continue cooking 5 to 7 minutes. turn chicken add all oinion. cook and turn chicken till onion is almost translucent, add mushrooms. Cook turning chicken till mushrooms are done. Remove chicken set aside. Add sour cream mixing well. Return chicken. spoon sauce over chicken, stirring well till sour cream is hot. Be sure to taste and season with salt to taste.
serve over bed of egg noodles
