Today I am going to show you how to make Popeyes Chicken Sandwich at home. Buttermilk fried chicken, coated with a cajun seasoning blend, layered between brioche buns. This is a delicious crispy fried chicken recipe and might be even better than the original one.

💥 Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Ingredients: 3 Sandwiches
3 Chicken Breasts
* Popeyes Chicken Brine/Marinade Ingredients:
2 cups Buttermilk
3 Eggs
1/4 cup Hot Sauce
1 tbsp Salt
* Popeyes Chicken Batter Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1 tbsp Salt
1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning or Creole Seasoning
1 tbsp Black Pepper
1 tbsp Paprika
1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper (optional if like extra spicy)
Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Brioche Buns (Toasted)
1/4 cup Mayo
Sliced Pickles
Ketchup
Yellow Mustard
💥 Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add eggs, hot sauce, salt and buttermilk and mix. Set a side.
2. Flatten the thickest part of the chicken using meat tenderizer.
3. Add the chicken in the buttermilk mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and keep in fridge for 4 hours.
4.In a mixing bowl, add flour, cornstarch, salt, cajun seasoning, black pepper, paprika and mix.
5. After 4 hours, take the chicken out of the fridge. Coat the chicken in dry batter. Coat all crevices, nice even thick coating.
6. Rest the chicken on a cooling rack for a few minutes.
7. Heat the oil up to 350F on medium, fry the chicken until golden brown on both sides. Cook chicken until the internal temperature reaches 165F at the thickest part.
8. Toast the buttered brioche buns. Assemble the sandwich with mayo and sliced pickles.
9. Enjoy!
