Goulash “Hungarian Beef Stew” (Monika’s International Cooking)

This beef stew is an Hungarian dish that is known all over Europe and is a sypmbol of the Hungarian kitchen. It is unique and something you can make for a big family. If you have a small family or are single you can always store it in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze it and eat it another day. It is also good for any family and friends gatherig. You can serve it with pasta, rice, boiled potatoes, and even mashed potatoes. When you prepare this dish, make sure to taste it throughout the cooking time to determan if you need more salt. If the sauce gets less because of the two hour cooking time add a little water. The flour and sour cream mixture you want to add in the end. Then simmer for another 10 min. Add a little parsley on top when serving. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients:
65g of bacon cut in little pieces, about 3-4 Tbsp
1 big chopped sweet onion
2.5lbs of beef stew meat
1/4 cup of unsalted butter
Black pepper
Salt
1 Tbsp of caraway seeds
3-4 Tbsp of tomato paste
1 Tbsp of sweet paprika seasoning
1 cup of red wine, i used Merlot
2 1/2 cups of beef stock
3 Tbsp of unbleached flour
1/2 cup of sour cream, add a little more if the flour
mixture is too thick
1 box of cellentani pasta or egg noodles
Salt
Parsley to garnish
