Pork shoulder with rice recipe
Ingredients:
1 pork shoulder (7-8 lbs)
2 & 1/2 cups white long grain rice
1 cup chicken broth
2 TBS lawry’s seasoning salt
2 TBS onion powder
2 TBS garlic powder
1/2 TBS smoked paprika
1/2 TBS black pepper
1 shallot
4 garlic cloves
2 TBS butter
Directions:
In a rice cooker, add your pork (fat side down) along with the chicken broth. Next, add all of the dry seasonings to the rice cooker. In a small pan, saute the garlic cloves and shallot in butter until golden brown. It takes about 3 minutes on medium high heat. Then, add it to the rice cooker. Cook for 4 hours on low, then flip the meat over to cook until tender on the other side. Cook for another 2 hours, then open and remove the meat and bones. Measure your juice left in the pot for the rice. 1 cup of rice for every 1 and a half cups of juice. Add the rice to the cooker. Flash cook the rice for 30 minutes to an hour(keep it closed for at least 30 minutes!)If the rice is crunchy add about another 1/2 cup of chicken broth and keep on warm for 30 minutes to an hour.
