3 cups sela rice (washed)
2 onions (sliced thinly)
1 tomato (diced)
1/4 cup cilantro (minced)
2 tsp lemon
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 1/2 chicken breast
Biryani seasoning packet
1 packet yellow Goya
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
2 bay leaves
3 potatoes
Preheat oven on 400
Step 1 : Cut up chicken marinate it in plain yogurt, black pepper , cumin , salt , cumin , 1/2 tsp biryani seasoning mix and set aside for 20 mins (you will then cook it for 15 minutes)
Step 2 : In medium size pan add in 3 1/2 cups water 1 tsp salt, bay leaves , 1/4 tsp biryani seasoning mix , 2 tbsp butter on medium low heat once the water boils add in your rice cook for 15 minutes lower heat add a lid and let steam cook for 3 minutes
Step 3 : Slice onions thinly and add to a flat pan on medium low heat , with 5 tbsp oil . Cook until brown (set aside)
Step 4 : In the pan you cooked the onions in add in tomatoes, cilantro , and garlic cook until soft(set aside). Then you will add the chicken cook for 5-6 minutes .
Step 5 : Cut up potatoes into any shape you like and fry (sprinkle salt and pepper)
Step 6 : In a oven safe pan add in your rice put 1/2 tsp yellow Goya over rice then add chicken , potatoes , onions and tomato mix.
Step 7 : Put in the oven bake for 10 minutes.
Step 8 : Finally take out biryani and gently mix everything together with a fork.You can squeeze some more lemon on top of biryani if you like.
