Chicken Tikka Masala

My version of the famous Indian dish. To save time, I use store-bought garlic paste and bottled minced ginger. Ingredients listed below:

Chicken Tikka Masala (serves 4-6)
For the chicken marinade:
1 cup plain yogurt
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 lb (or slightly more) skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1-2 tablespoons olive oil, for browning the chicken

For the sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons garam masala
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 28-ounce can tomato sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
Garnish: chopped fresh cilantro
For serving: Basmati rice and/or naan
