I love tacos! One of my favorite types of tacos is a tradiontal Mexican street taco with carne asada. This recipe will give you one of the juiciest most flavorful carne asada tacos you’ve ever had.

Ingredients:

¾ cup Fresh orange juice
½ cup Fresh lemon juice
⅓ cup Fresh lime juice
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup soy sauce
2 teaspoon finely chopped canned chipotle pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
½ cup olive oil
3 pounds thinly sliced bottom round steak or skirt steak

Instructions:

Mix all of the ingredients (minus the meat) together in a bowl

Place the meat in a gallon ziplock bag

Reserve 1 cup of the marinade and place in a container. (This will be used to baste the meat while you are cooking it)

Add the rest of the marinade in with the meat

While closing the ziplock bag remove as much air as you can

After the bag is completely sealed, mix around the marinade so it covers ALL of the meat

Place the bag into a large bowl and put it into the refrigerator overnight

In the morning flip the bag over so that the marinade can penetrate the meat evenly

Preheat your BBQ to 500 degrees

Place you meat onto the BBQ baste the top with the marinade after a couple of minutes flip over the meat (make sure there are char marks from the grill grates)

Baste the other side of the meat and let cook for another couple of minutes

Remove the meat and let it rest for 5 minutes

Chop up the carne asada and serve on a corn tortilla (*optional you can add minced onion and a squeeze of fresh lime on top)

ENJOY!
