This Cabbage Soup has great flavor from the ingredients and spices, one of my favorites. The secret ingredient is in the description!
Ingredients:
1/2 of a medium onion
1 green bell pepper
1 clove garlic
1 pound lean ground beef (or 1/2 pound is fine)
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1 Tablespoon tomato paste
2 Tablespoons all purpose flour (optional)
1/2 of a small to medium cabbage
1/4 cup uncooked rice
1 (11.5 ounce) can V8
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 bay leaf
2 cups beef broth
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Heat your pot to medium heat, add your onion, green bell pepper, garlic and beef. Cook till ground beef is no longer pink, drain off fat if necessary.
Add your spices and flour if using, then add your cabbage. Cook for 3 minutes with lid on.
Add the rest of your ingredients, then simmer for 30 minutes with lid on.

You could also leave the beef out, if desired.
