This quick and easy Crispy Air Fryer Chickpea recipe is perfect for when you are craving a delicious snack. You can season with salt and pepper or any of these 2 flavor combinations.

I have used my two favorite kitchen appliances that are Instant Pot to Cook Chickpeas and Air Fryer to roast them to make a perfectly crispy and crunchy chickpeas snack.

INGREDIENTS
Cooked or Canned Garbanzo beans drained- 2 cups/ 15oz
Oil- For Spraying
Seasoning:

Chili Lime

· Chili powder- 1 Tsp
· Cumin Powder- ½ Tsp
· Salt- ½ Tsp
· Garlic Powder- ¼ Tsp
· Lime Juice- ¼ Tsp

Cajun

· Cajun Seasoning- 2Tsp
· Garlic Powder- ½ Tsp
· Onion Powder- ½ Tsp
· Cayenne- a pinch or to taste (optional)

Instructions:
1. I soaked chickpea for overnight. Cook chickpea in the instant pot for 12 minutes or you can use canned chickpeas.
2. Drain the water completely using colander.
3. Place drained chickpeas in Air Fryer basket or tray. Set temperature to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and timer to 17 minutes. After 5 minutes, open the fryer and spray chickpeas with oil and shake basket or tray. Close and continue air frying, shaking about every 5 minutes to get evenly roasted chickpeas.
4. Once chickpeas are done, remove and place in a bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning on the chickpeas and stir to combine.
5. If you like more crispy roast it for 3 more minutes. Serve and enjoy.

Notes on Air Fryer chickpeas
· Drying the chickpeas in the Air Fryer prior to adding the oil gave the best results. The chickpeas should be dry after 5 minutes.
· How long to cook the chickpeas will depend on the Air Fryer brand and size. I suggest checking the doneness of your chickpeas after 15 minutes.
· I noticed that when I added seasoning too early, the seasoning would fall off the chickpeas or taste burnt.
· If you want to make these ahead or have chickpeas leftover, you can store them in a paper bag for a couple of days.
· Have fun with the seasonings! The possibilities are endless.
