Falafel, a quick and easy middle eastern dish is very similar to our South Indian masala vadai. Instead of using soaked channa dal like we do for our vadais, we use soaked chick peas or garbanzo beans (channa). We grind chickpeas with some herbs and spices and deep fry them. You can shallow fry them or even bake them. In my recipe, I’m also adding in some boiled beetroot, because it adds a lovely flavor to our falafel. If you don’t want to add veggies to it you can skip it and make the original falafel.
