Ingredients
* 1 lb ground Beef/Turkey
* 2 bay leaves
* 1 yellow onion, diced
* 3 garlic cloves, minced
* 1 celery, chopped
* 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
* 2 cups water
* 15 oz marinara sauce
* 1 (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes
* Salt to taste
* 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
* 1 tsp paprika, or adjust
* 1 tsp dried oregano
* 1 tsp black pepper powder
* 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
* 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
* Fresh Parsley leaves, chopped
Preparations
1. Turn on the Instant Pot, select saute mode, once it says hot add ground beef, onion, garlic, chopped celery and season with salt, and pepper. Cook until meat is browned.
2. When meat is browned drain fat if needed, then add chopped bell pepper, dried oregano, Italian seasoning, paprika, noodles, and bay leaves and water. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, do not stir.
3. Cancel sauté and close the lid and select pressure cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. Make sure the valve is in sealing position.
4. Quick Release once the instant pot beeps. Open the lid and discard the bay leaves and give a good stir.
5. Stir in cheese and garnish with chopped parsley leaves. Close the lid and let it melt for 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
Recipe NotesStove top method
1. In a saucepan saute ground beef and cook until browned. Remove from pan and drain the extra fat. Add in the diced onion, garlic, celery, bell pepper and cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat.
2. Add in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, Italian seasoning, oregano, paprika and season with salt and pepper. Stir together, bring to a boil, cover, reduce to low and let simmer for 20 minutes.
3. Stir in the noodles, cover, and simmer 15 minutes or until al dente. Stir in between.
4. Just before serving, stir in the cheddar cheese and Garnish with fresh parsley.
