According to Dr. Sundry, after the holidays heavy eating some people think a water fasting it’s a good idea, but he recommends instead 5 days of eating ONLY CABBAGE SOUP mixed with extra vegetables. He thinks that a water fasting will release too many toxins hidden in the fat cells and actually overwhelms the body and you will end up feeling more miserable.

So, here is a wholesome and tasty, DETOXING CABBAGE SOUP with Potatoes, Sweet Potato, Corn, coconut milk, and Jalapeno “pickle” juice for a unique punch that brings this soup to another level!
p.s. Make a big pot and “update” the leftover soup next day with coconut milk, some more fresh herbs, and some pickle juice (Jalapeno tastes great!)
For a totally wholesome and tasty broth, I recommend the organic, vegan, and GMO-free YONDU sauce! This stuff it’s SO GOOD! Use it in all your dishes! Just be careful, its salty! So skip the salt when using it.
Ingredients:
CABBAGE- 1 small – cut chunks
ONION -1 or 2 -diced
CARROTS -3 med. – sliced
Optional vegetables:
WHITE POTATOES -2 -cubed
SWEET POTATO -1 -cubed
CELERY -3 -sliced
CORN – 1 cup or so (Frozen or fresh)
Herbs:
ITALIAN PARSLEY – 1 bunch
FRESH DILL – 5-6 branches
BAY LEAF -1
SWEET PAPRIKA – 1 Tbsp
Optional, but good, Spices:
CUMIN SEEDS – 2 tsp
CARRAWAY SEEDS -2 tsp
CELERY SEEDS – 2 tsp
DILL SEEDS – 2 tsp
STOCK (Vegetable or any other) &
Salt/Black Pepper
OR my favored DIY stock:
8-10 cups WATER
+ YONDU SAUCE (2tsp/cup of water) (skip the salt)
or “Better than Bullion” (skip the salt)
1 Can Diced Tomatoes
optional: an extra 1 Can Tomato Sauce
LEMON JUICE (from 1/2 lemon)
Optional additions:
COCONUT MILK
PICKLE JUICE (or Jalapeno Juice)
Please adjust the spices to your liking…add pickle juice 1 tablespoon at a time 😉
