In this video, I am going to show you how to make Czech Goulash, over a camp fire.

Czech Goulash (Hovězí guláš)

Ingredietnts
2-2.5 pounds (900-1135 g) beef chuck roast
2 large onions
1⁄4 cup (60 ml) ghee (butter, lard, bacon fat, or oil)
2 teaspoons caraway seeds
1 tablespoon Hungarian paprika
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon marjoram or oregano
3 ounces (85 g) tomato paste
1 tablespoon and 1.5 teaspoons Kosher salt (taste, and adjust)
A bunch of fresh ground black pepper
4 cups or 1 qt (1000 mL) dark beer
4 cups or 1 qt (1000 mL) water
2-3 slices rye bread

Topping
Diced white onion

Put the fat, and onions in a dutch oven. Caramelise over medium high heat, and make them yummy. Add the spices, and cook for 2-5 min. Add the beef, water, beer, tomato paste, and 2 thick slices of bread. (If you have a real crusty bread, you may need to cut up the crusts) Simmer for 1.5-2 hours, or until the meat is tender, and about to fall apart. Spoon onto a plate or bowl. Top with diced white onions. Serve with dumplings or buttered bread, and a big mug of beer.

When I am in the outdoors, my favorite sheeth knife is the Kabar Mk 1. Because of the flat grind blade taper, it makes a good cooking knife. If you need one, click this link. Perchasing one helps support my channel #CommissionsEarned: https://amzn.to/31UlWCI
