HOW TO MAKE THE BEST TASTIEST PAKISTANI CHICKEN JALFREZI STIR-FRY RECIPE đđ”đ°!!
In the mood for a stir fry? If so, you have to check this out.
Chicken Jalfrezi is one of the most delicious yet unique Pakistani dishes as it incorporates the Chinese method of stir-frying veggies, particularly bell peppers and onions into a curry.
It is one of the most popular dishes ordered at Pakistani-Indian restaurants but my homemade version is so much better! So make sue you try and let me know how it goes.
INGREDIENTS:
– ÂŒ cup oil
– 1 kg chicken thighs (boneless chopped)
– 250g crushed tomatoes
– 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
– 2 onions (1 diced for sauce + 1 chopped)
– 2 bell peppers/capsicums (chopped)
– Spices (see list below)
SPICES: (or 1 spice mix packet)
– 1 tsp chilli powder (use Kashmiri if you donât eat spicy food)
– 1 tsp cumin powder
– 1 tsp coriander powder
– œ tsp nigella seeds
– 1 tsp black pepper powder
– 1 tsp white pepper powder
– 1 tsp turmeric
– 1 tsp salt (according to taste)
– Coriander (to garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. On a medium heat, sauté the diced onion in oil till softened.
2. Add chicken, crushed tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, spices & salt.
3. Cook covered till oil separates and chicken the chicken is fully cooked, about 25 mins.
4. In a separate pan, on a high heat stir fry the chopped peppers and onion in a tbsp oil for 3 mins, stirring constantly. Do not overcook.
5. Add the stir fried veggies to the chicken curry, toss to combine.
6. Cover and simmer on low for 5 mins.
7. Garnish with coriander.
8. Enjoy!
