In this video, we show you a Shakshuka Recipe without Oven. This is an Easy Shakshuka Recipe that is made on the stovetop from the comfort of your own home. Shakshuka is a popular breakfast dish in North Africa and the Middle East made using Eggs that are poached in a Spicy Tomato Sauce. Some Shakshuka dishes are cooked or finished off in the oven, but in this recipe, we show you how to make this dish on the stove.
To make the Shakshuka Recipe without Oven, you will need:
1 tbs olive oil
1 small onion finely chopped
2 crushed garlic cloves
half a red capsicum (bell pepper)
1 tin of chopped tomatoes (400g)
1 tbs tomato puree
salt to taste
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp red pepper flakes
4 eggs
fresh parsley
We served the Shakshuka with toasted bread and avocado, but it can also be served with pita, crusty bread, olives, and feta cheese.
Authentic Shakshuka is popular in North Africa, including Morocco, as well as around Middle Eastern countries. It can be served for lunch and breakfast too, but most common as breakfast.
