Anytime is the right time for some Shrimp & Grits. Because I am Slovenian (Born in Murska Sobota, Slovenia), I figured that any twist that I add will be considered as a “Slovenian Twist” 😊

INGREDIENTS –
GRITS:
 4-6 Slices of Bacon
 Reserved Bacon Grease (2TBSP)
 3 Cups Chicken Stock
 1 Cup Quick Grits (do not use “Instant Grits”)
 6 Tablespoons Butter (1/2 for Grits – ½ for Shrimp)
 2- TBSP Butter (unsalted)
 2 Cups – Shredded Cheddar Cheese
 Kosher Salt
 Freshly Ground or Coarsely Ground Black Pepper

SHRIMP:
 1-2 Lbs. of Large Shrimp – Shelled/deveined
 4 pieces of Green Onions
 ½ Medium Yellow Onion (optional)
 5-6 Cloves Garlic – minced
 Handful Flat Leaf Parsley (@ ¼ – ½ Cup) Chopped
 1 – Cup Chicken Stock
 1-2 Tsp – Red Hungarian Paprika (Sweet)
 1-2 Tsp – Worcestershire Sauce
 1-2 Tsp – Crystal (Hot Sauce)
 Freshly Ground or Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
 Juice of 1 Lemon
 ¼ Cup Dry White Wine (my twist – optional)
