Try this delicious and easy recipe for Vegan Chicken Buffalo Wings. Make these tasty alternative-to-chicken vegan wings with only a few ingredients. They don’t taste exactly like chicken but they are a close second.

When I first stopped eating meat I didn’t miss it at all. But a couple of years later I started having occasional cravings for chicken wings. I missed everything about the experience of eating chicken wings…the atmosphere, hanging out with friends, the delicious taste of the sauce and the sharp tang of blue cheese dressing with carrots and celery. And then I heard about Buffalo Cauliflower wings.

I tried a few recipes out online with so-so results. I played around with the ingredients and the oven temperature and found, what I think, is the perfect combination.

So, let’s get started…

This recipe is for 1-person so adjust accordingly.

You’re going to need 2 bowls and 1/3 to 1/4 of a cauliflower head (which equals approximately one dozen cauliflower bites).

1) Preheat oven to 425

2) Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper

3) In the first bowl add…
-1/4 cup of flour
-1/4 cup of soya milk
-1/2 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp of onion powder and 1/2 tsp of regular paprika or smoked paprika powder
-Add some fresh black pepper and a tiny dash of salt
-Optionally you can add 1/2 tsp. to 1 tsp. of ground flax seed

4) Whisk the ingredients together

5) Add a dozen pieces of medium small size cauliflower to the bowl and mix to coat each piece

6) Place cauliflower on cookie sheet with parchment paper and put in oven for 15 minutes.

7) After 15 minutes flip each piece of cauliflower over with a pair of tongs and put back in the oven for another 15 minutes.

8) Get out your 2nd bowl and pour a few tablespoons of Franks’ Red Hot sauce into the bowl.

9) After the 2nd 15 minutes has passed take the cauliflower out of the oven and put the pieces into the bowl with the hot sauce. Then mix to coat each piece.

10) Put the cauliflower back on the cookie sheet and bake for another 10-15 minutes.

***IMPORTANT NOTE: I find anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes is sufficient for the vegan wings 3rd time in the oven but you may like to leave them in for 15-20 minutes if you prefer them really well done. But, make sure to watch closely so as to not let them burn.

11) Serve with some carrots, celery and either home-made blue cheese dressing or some Daiya blue cheese dressing. Also, make sure to put some extra hot sauce aside in a small condiment dish for dipping.

Enjoy!
