Recipe:
Garlic Hummus
Experience the Mediterranean at Home
Makes: 3 Cups
Stuff You Need
3 cups or 2 14 oz cans of chickpeas, drained
3 to 4 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini or 1/3 cup sesame seeds, toasted 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp Himalayan pink salt or salt of your choice 1/2 cup water
Paprika for garnish
Let’s Blend!
1. Add all ingredients except paprika to a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth and the desired consistency has been reached.
3. Add additional water if it’s too thick.
4. Garnish with paprika.
5. Serve with warmed pita triangles.
Chef Tips
This is a basic recipe for hummus. You can mix in any other ingredients you’d like for endless varieties, such as roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, etc. If you buy raw sesame seeds, make sure to toast them in a skillet with no oil or water. Stir frequently until brown to avoid burning.
Gluten-free, soy-free, and nut-free.
