HEALTHY HIGH PROTEIN Turkish Red Lentil Soup | Vegetarian Recipe

by Papri Spice

This red lentil soup is the most famous soup in Turkey! It’s vegetarian, healthy and has a lot of protein and dietary fiber, thanks to the lentils.
It’s also great during hot summer days: just sprinkle some refreshing lemon juice and enjoy your Turkish lentil soup! If you would like more rich and smokey flavors, top it up with some paprika-butter sauce, too.

What else could you possible want? Give it a try and enjoy!

For the soup:
– red lentils [200 g / 7 oz]
– extra virgin olive oil [15 ml / 1 tablespoon]
– onion [1 medium size]
– ground cumin [1 teaspoon]
– ground turmeric [half teaspoon]
– tomato paste [2 teaspoons]
– hot water [1 liter/quart]
– 1 teaspoon salt
For the sauce:
– unsalted butter or extra virgin olive oil [2 tablespoons]
– paprika powder [1 teaspoon]
