here’s a recipe for Turkish-style meatballs, also known as “köfte”:
Ingredients:
500g ground beef or lamb
1 onion, grated
1 egg
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh mint, finely chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Olive oil, for frying
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, mint (if using), cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of olive oil.
Shape the meat mixture into small oval or round balls, about the size of a golf ball.
Place the meatballs in the frying pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through.
Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as rice, salad, or grilled vegetables.
Enjoy your delicious Turkish-style meatballs!
