Feelin’ A Cold – Kath Eats Real Food

Here’s a bit of our life lately!

How GORGEOUS is this tree?! One of the prettiest in Cville.

I have really been loving going on walks now that our temperatures are a bit cooler. A 20-minute loop around my neighborhood lifts my spirits like nothing else! Especially on days like this.

We all came down with a cold

The first to sniffle was Birch. He missed a week of school! Luckily his COVID test came back negative on the front end of that week, so then we just had to wait for his symptoms to resolve. Thomas and I thought we were off with just a little touch of it but about 5 days later BAM we both were down for the count. This happened last November too! Poor Mazey also caught it and missed a few days of school as well.

Stayed in jams all day:

A cheer-up visit with books from Ms. Lauren and Sadie the dog!

Once we were well again, we were all SO HAPPY!!

Look at this rockstar who decided to chop off his long bangs to look more like his favorite YouTuber (one of those guys who yells while playing video games – ugh!).

Also the rockstar has been really getting good on his guitar! He’s been taking lessons for almost a year and discovered this cool but expensive app that he has loved.

New Allbirds!

I’ve been feeling like a rockstar in my new Allbirds!! Teri sent me them as a surprise birthday gift and I just love the color. It’s Atlas and it has hints of my favorite shade of purple!

Also the prettiest shade of purple

Tart Cherry + Raspberry Daily Harvest. With homemade granola on top!

AND this pom – straight from our friends’ garden!

Gallery of Food

Thomas’s homemade waffles!!

Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

Eggs n Pear

I am all over the pears these days!

Smoothie Bowl with Toasted Coconut Chips

Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with CC + Pear

Sardine Salad on a Flatbread

These fried pita cracker flatbread things from Wegmans were so good!

Sardine Salad + Flatbread Part II

Lunch Date with a Podcast At Chopt!

The jalapeño yogurt dressing there is my FAV!

Plenty Cville Roasted Vegetable Gratin

This was almost too pretty to eat! Filled with root veggies and parmesan cheese.

Blue Apron Pork Bowl with Noodles + Peanuts

This was so delish – I had it for dinner – lunch – dinner!

Blue Apron also just launched its Black Friday week sale – up to $160 off + free shipping on your first box. That’s almost double off what the promos were when I started working with them.

Blue Apron Panko Chicken

ALWAYS order the panko chicken! It’s the absolute best.

Blue Apron Smoked Gouda Burgers

Their Craft Burgers are REALLY good. I attribute it to the Challah buns and spicy sauces.

Soy Glazed Chicken Bowls

The cilantro sauce on these was 100%! Sad indoor lighting season is here post-daylight saving time.

Homemade Smoked Wings

Thomas’s spice rub is also 100%. And that homemade dipping sauce was like ranch….but way better. Roasted potatoes and brussels on the side.

Hope you’re having a fantastic week!
