Summer is for grilling if you ask me! It keeps the mess outside, and my husband loves to help! So here are 5 unforgettable recipes for the grill. (Hint, they’re not all meat!)

Goop Burgers:
1/2/ c. cheese, one 4 oz. can mushrooms, 4 strips bacon crumbled. Mix together with a small amount of Mayo. Enough to make it stick! Grill burgers like normal. About 3 minutes before the burgers are ready, spoon goop over burgers and leave on grill until burgers are done. Everything will be ooey and gooey and delicious!

Grilled Angel Food Cake:
Make cake according to directions. When cake is cooled cut into two inch wedges. Dip or paint with butter and grill on each side for about 3 minutes. Top with whipped cream and berries.

Homemade Maple Whipped Cream:
1 c. heavy whipping cream
1/4 confectioners sugar
1 tbsp. maple syrup
Whip cream until light peaks form. Add sugar and syrup and about a minute more to get everything fluffy and delicious!

Rice Recipe:
1 3/4 c. chicken or beef broth, or water
1 c. shredded carrots
3/4 c. rice, uncooked
1 tbsp. parsley
1 tbsp minced onion (or 2 tbsp. diced onion)
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. season salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Mix everything together. Bake, covered at 375° for 45-60 minutes, or until rice is tender. Take out of oven and fluff with fork and serve.
