Turkish Bread has so many culinary influences. Its diversity is owed to many factors, including geography, rich flora and fauna, and of course the sultan’s kitchen from the days of the Ottoman Empire. The fact that Turkey was influential in the spice trade is another bonus to its rich cultural heritage.
Turkish bread Is light and airy, full of air pockets
Step 1 ………..
Turkish bread mix…………
Flour – 500 gms
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Yeast – 2 tablespoon
Warm water – 150 ML
Milk – 150 ML
Extra virgin olive oil – 3 tablespoon
Extra virgin olive oil – 1 tablespoon (2)
Method……….
In a bowl add flour, salt and yeast
Mix well
Add water and milk
Mix well
Add extra virgin olive oil
Mix well and knead well
Make a bowl
Spread the extra virgin olive oil (2) on top of the dough
Cover with plastic wrap
Rest for 1 hours
Step 2……..
Prepare the Turkish bread………
Flour –
Butter – 1 teaspoon/ bread
Paprika – sprinkle/ bread
Method………
After 1 hour the dough rises to double the amount
Remove the plastic wrap
Just push the edges of the dough
Dust the table with flour
Make 8 balls the size of an lemon
Dust the balls with flour
Press the balls
Using a rolling pin roll the dough to round shape, Medium thick

Heat the pan on to a medium temperature
Place the bread on to a pan
Press the bread with a spoon to get the temperature evenly
Flip the bread
The bread start puffing
Add the butter on top
Sprinkle with paprika
Remove from the pan

Note & Tips
. Knead the dough well
. The bread should be medium thick
. Temperature of the pan is very important, it should be medium temperature
. Press the bread, to get the temperature evenly
